Alex Eala continues to present her case as tennis’ next big thing after cracking her way into the top 1000 of the women’s professional rankings.
At just 15-years-old, Eala moved 248 ranks higher and is the current World No. 942 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
“It’s a long journey ahead and I will need to keep on working hard!” posted Eala on her Facebook page upon receiving her latest achievement.
Meanwhile, Eala maintained her top-three rank in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior’s division behind Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva at no.2 and Elsa Jacquemot at no.1.
It was a historic first month of 2021 when Eala played her first professional women’s tournament and clinched the W15 Manacor tourney championship in the first leg.
Eala turned heads after outlasting the ITF women’s singles rank no. 2 and the no. 1 seed in the first leg Seone Mendez in just the second round.
Despite losing the second leg, Eala vows to do her best to win another championship trophy in the third and final leg of the tournament.
