Good news for Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala continues to pile up.
After winning her first doubles title with Latvian partner Darja Semenistaja at the W50 Pune in India, Eala climbed to a new career-high in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
Eala is now at 302nd for doubles, jumping by 62 places from her previous ranking at 365th, while she is now at 184th for singles after dropping to 187th from January 8 to 15.
Eala and Semenistaja won over Hungary’s Fanny Stollar and Great Britain’s Naiktha Bains, 7-6(8), 6-3 in the Indian tourney for her breakthrough doubles title.
She also opened 2024 with a WTA career-high in singles with 185th on January 1.
Eala is still in India for the Indore ITF World Tennis Tour W50, where she won over Kazakhstan’s Zhibek Kulambayeva on Wednesday, 6-3, 6-4, in the first round.
