The Alaska management decided to suspend their superstar power forward, Vic Manuel, with his involvement in a ligang labas game in Laguna.
Participating in any ligang libas game is strictly prohibited by the PBA with the player being levied heavy penalties.
In the case of Manuel, he together with ex-teammate Calvin Abueva, who is also under suspension, suited up for a team in Laguna together with their friends.
The Alaska management found out that Manuel played in a ligang labas game last February 22, Saturday, and instantly called the attention of their prized forward.
“We have friends there so it was hard to say no to them. They told me to play there because Calvin was also there. I knew it was prohibited but I’m hardheaded,” Manuel said during the PBA Media Day.
Aside from Manuel, Magnolia Hotshots speedy guard Jio Jalalon was also suspended after playing in the same outside league.
As of now, there is still no specific timeline toward Manuel and Jalalon’s suspension.
