The Alas Pilipinas women’s national volleyball team swept Indonesia, 25-17, 25-17, 28-26, to claim the SEA V. League second leg bronze medal on Aug. 10, 2025, in Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
With the third-place finish, the Philippines secured its fourth straight SEA V-League bronze medal and extended its podium streak.
Alas controlled the first two sets with a balanced offensive attack led by Alyssa Solomon, Angel Canino, and Eya Laure.
Strong defensive pressure also limited Indonesia’s scoring, holding them to just 34 points combined in the opening sets.
After back-to-back losses to Thailand and Vietnam, Alas vented its frustration on Indonesia, delivering an efficient hitting display to move within a set of victory.
But Indonesia mounted a late fightback, taking control of the third set with well-placed drop shots and off-speed spikes.
They led most of the frame and held a 21-18 cushion before Laure and Bella Belen sparked a rally that tied the score at 22.
Laure scored in succession before Belen delivered back-to-back spikes to complete the comeback and seal the straight-sets win.
Veteran middle blocker Dell Palomata also came up big in the closing stretch, blocking an Indonesia cross-court attack in the final three rallies.
The team will have only a few weeks to recover before returning to action later this month in a tuneup match against world No. 11 Dominican Republic as part of its preparation for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
