BANGA, Aklan — Police operatives arrested one of Aklan’s most wanted individuals in a joint operation on the evening of Dec. 22, 2025, in Barangay Poblacion, Banga.
Alias “Delsol,” a 37-year-old resident of Banga, was taken into custody at approximately 8:59 p.m. by tracker teams from the Makato and Banga Municipal Police Stations.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 1 in Kalibo, dated Sept. 23, 2025. He faces charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically for violations of Article II Sections 11, 12, and 15.
Section 11 pertains to the illegal possession of dangerous drugs; Section 12 addresses the possession of drug paraphernalia or equipment used for illegal drug activities; and Section 15 involves the use of dangerous drugs.
Police identified the suspect as the fifth most wanted person in the province due to his alleged involvement in drug-related crimes.
Police Brigadier General Jose Ligan, regional director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), commended the arresting units for the successful operation.
“The arrest of the area’s top most wanted person for illegal drugs marks a significant step in strengthening peace and order in the community. This accomplishment removes a major source of illegal drugs from the streets and helps protect families, especially the youth, from the harmful effects of drug abuse. It also sends a strong message that criminal activities will not be tolerated, reinforcing the commitment of law enforcement to ensure a safer, healthier, and more secure environment for all residents,” PBGEN Ligan said.
He added that intensified intelligence-driven operations will continue throughout the holiday season.
“PRO6 assures the public that continuous monitoring and intelligence-driven operations will be intensified during the holiday season to further promote a safer Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
The suspect remains in police custody while awaiting turnover to the appropriate court.
