KALIBO, Aklan — The 4th Hinuguran it Akeanon Trade Fair generated PHP 25.059 million in total sales, surpassing its PHP 25 million target and underscoring stronger demand for Aklanon-made products.
The eight-day trade fair was held from April 23 to 30 at the Aklan Trade Hall, Capitol Grounds, Kalibo, Aklan.
Organizers said the event showcased the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of Aklanon micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The PHP 25.059 million total sales consisted of PHP 8.459 million in cash sales and PHP 16.600 million in booked sales.
The 2026 sales figure was higher by PHP 4.356 million, or 21.04%, compared with the PHP 20.703 million recorded in 2025.
It also exceeded the PHP 18.250 million generated in 2024, reflecting continued growth in the market reach of Aklanon enterprises.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all visitors and Aklanons who patronized the trade fair and supported local entrepreneurs by purchasing and promoting Aklanon-made products. Their overwhelming support significantly contributed to the success of the activity and further strengthened the province’s commitment in sustaining local industries and livelihoods. This success also serves as a good challenge for our Aklanon MSMEs to continue their efforts in improving their products and expanding their market,” says DTI 6 OIC-Asst. Regional Director and concurrent DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan.
The trade fair featured Aklan piña, handicrafts, home decors, food products, and other innovative creations from local enterprises.
The Department of Trade and Industry said the Hinuguran it Akeanon Trade Fair continues to serve as a platform for MSMEs to expand networks, increase visibility, and promote sustainable economic growth in the province.
The strong turnout also reaffirmed the potential of homegrown businesses to reach both local consumers and institutional buyers.
MSMEs remain vital to provincial economies, providing livelihood opportunities, supporting local supply chains, and helping communities preserve traditional crafts while developing new market-ready products.
