ACMobility has partnered with Robinsons Malls to expand its electric vehicle charging network nationwide, adding more charging stations in key cities across the Philippines as the country’s EV market grows and more drivers look for reliable charging beyond major urban centers.
ACMobility, which provides EV charging solutions and infrastructure in the Philippines, said the collaboration with one of the country’s largest mall and retail operators is designed to address range anxiety by placing charging sites in highly accessible, high-traffic locations, including in provincial areas.
“As one of the country’s leading mall operators, Robinsons enables us to further scale our EV network through the deployment of charging infrastructure in highly accessible, high-traffic locations,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility.
“This partnership supports our broader goal of building a reliable, nationwide charging backbone that addresses range anxiety, strengthens connectivity between cities and provinces, and gives more Filipinos the confidence to adopt EVs as part of their everyday mobility.”
As an initial deployment, 10 EV charging hubs will be launched and fully operational by the first quarter of this year, with each hub equipped with two 22kW charge points, except for Robinsons Butuan, which will have two 7kW charge points.
Five hubs are already operational at Robinsons malls in Ilocos Norte in Luzon; Iloilo, Roxas and Dumaguete in the Visayas; and Pagadian in Mindanao.
Additional locations are set to open in Luzon and the Visayas at Robinsons Tuguegarao, Santiago and La Union, as well as in Antique.
In Mindanao, new hubs are planned for Robinsons Iligan, Butuan and Valencia.
Once operational, the Valencia site “will become one of the northernmost EV charging stations in ACMobility’s growing Philippine EV Spine Network to date,” the release said.
The companies said the partnership extends ACMobility’s geographic footprint while reinforcing Robinsons Malls’ positioning as an environmentally responsible developer by integrating EV charging into malls as part of its broader shift toward supporting cleaner transportation options.
The rollout also builds on ACMobility’s Philippine EV Spine Network, which the company describes as a national charging backbone intended to make long-distance and intercity EV travel more practical by placing stations along key routes and destinations, “from Pagudpud in Luzon to Pagadian in Mindanao.”
ACMobility said all stations under the network can be located using its partner e-mobility service provider, Evro, an all-in-one EV charging app with a station finder feature, real-time availability tracking, navigation assistance and in-app payment options.
Buencamino said the new charging stations are meant to support a growing base of EV users and encourage more Filipinos, particularly in the provinces, to shift to electric vehicles, adding that more charging infrastructure is planned in key cities as demand rises.
“We want to break the misconception that EVs are only suited for city driving. By bringing these facilities closer to regional communities, we are sending a clear message: owning an EV is practical and sustainable, no matter where you live. With Robinsons Malls supporting this cause, we are confident we can bring this infrastructure to more people across the country,” Buencamino shared.
For motorists, wider mall-based charging can help normalize “top-up” charging during routine errands, while for operators it can improve station utilization because malls offer predictable dwell times and amenities that can fit charging sessions, especially for AC chargers such as 22kW units commonly used for longer parking stays.
