It was a perfect day filled with nostalgia and charm as retired U.S.-based Ilonggo gentry, Don Ceferino “Caloy” Trespeses, celebrated his 97th birthday with family and friends at a retro-themed luncheon. Blessed with fine weather, the celebration took place at the JR Hall of Diversion 21 Hotel, which was transformed into a stunning venue with silver and black balloons accentuating the space.
The event was planned by the celebrant’s beloved wife, Donya Sarah Trespeses, and their daughter, Marjorie Trespeses-Mella, whose family flew in from Los Angeles to surprise Don Caloy. This gathering allowed old friends and family members to relive cherished memories and strengthen bonds.
Contrary to expectations, the festivities continued well after lunch, thanks to DJ Jose Mijares, who kept the retro disco music going. A lively group of dancers took to the stage, and guests—including Don Caloy and Donya Sarah—joined in the dancing, much to everyone’s delight.
With a toast to many more birthdays, Don Caloy was celebrated in grand style. Cheers to more wonderful years ahead!
