BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) collared nine violators of liquor ban from May 12 to 13, 2019.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) liquor ban started midnight of May 12 and was lifted on May 13 at 11:59 p.m.
Of the nine violators, five were arrested in Calatrava town and four were collared in Cadiz City.
Among those arrested on May 12 in Calatrava town were Ricky Aquitar, 45; Herlan Bantemano, 56; and Diosdado Barcelo, 35, all residents of Barangay Marcelo.
The following day, Jose Joey Canencia, 58, of Barangay Suba; and Dennis Laguda, 66, of Barangay Bantayanon were also arrested in the said town for the same offense.
Police Major Edison Garcia, public information officer of Nocppo, said no minors were included in the arrest.
Garcia said charges for the violation of the Omnibus Election Code will be filed against them.
