BACOLOD City – The local government of Sipalay in Negros Occidental is encouraging the locals to participate in the city’s marine conservation efforts.
This, after a total of 82 hatchlings of sea turtles were released last Tuesday after two months of monitoring their nest at the Local Conservation Area in Barangay 5.
Twenty-two of these hatchlings were from Barangay Nauhang which were turned over to the Bantay Dagat before they were released.
The city government extended its gratitude to the council of Barangay 5, Mr. Jonathan Baylon, and Mr. Jomar Baylon.
The local government is also pushing for conserving the forests and other natural resources.
