A total of 81 local government units (LGUs) in Western Visayas passed the 2025 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-6.
The 2025 audit evaluated the 2024 performance of LGUs in ensuring the protection, development, and welfare of children at the community level.
The CFLGA is an annual assessment that measures how effectively LGUs implement child-centered programs and policies. It reviews performance across five key areas—survival, development, protection, participation, and governance—with a required passing score of at least 80 percent.
Of the passing LGUs, 38 are from Iloilo, including Iloilo City; 13 from Aklan; 11 from Antique; 14 from Capiz; and five from Guimaras.
“This recognition affirms the continued commitment of LGUs in Region 6 to uphold child welfare and foster communities where every child is nurtured, protected, and empowered to reach their fullest potential,” DILG-6 said in a statement.
Passing the CFLGA qualifies LGUs for further validation for the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG), a requirement for the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities and one of the criteria for the Seal of Good Local Governance.
