8 Masbateños nabbed for ‘illegal fishing’ in Panay

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Eight fishermen from Gentotolo, Masbate were arrested for alleged illegal fishing in separate operations Monday in the waters of Panay, Capiz.
The Bantay Dagat of Panay apprehended Hobentino Lebron, 33, boat captain, his crew members Richard Cardona, 30, and Rogelio Gleocam, 38.
Recovered from the suspects were a fishing boat, 160 pieces of “panggal” or crab trap, and four kilos of crabs.
The same team also collared Alfred Lastimoso, 25, boat captain and crew members Ricardo Degaba, 23, and Arnel Greno, 28.
Recovered from them was a fishing boat, 140 pieces of crab traps, and four kilos of crabs.
The Bantay Dagat also apprehended Ricky Degala, 24, boat captain and crew member Nickson Rebradella, 20.
They yielded a fishing boat, 140 pieces of crab traps, and three kilos of crabs.
