A septuagenarian woman died after a she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road evening of Oct 3, 2020 in Calinog, Iloilo.
Concepcion Magbanua, 71, was crossing the road in front of her house at Barangay Banban Grande, when a speeding motorcycle bumped her.
The motorcycle driver, Joevanie Jose, 32, of Barangay Daan Banwa, Lambunao town, was also injured during the incident.
Police account said Jose drove a Rusi Macho motorcycle. He lost control of the wheel and also hit a Yahama Mio motorcycle parked on the roadside.
Magbanua and Jose were both rushed to Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Calinog town for treatment.
But Magbanua did not pull through.
The suspect is now recuperating at the hospital while charges are being readied against him.
