BACOLOD City – Provincial Incident Management Team head Zeaphard Caelian said at least 70 percent of Negrenses must be vaccinated to reach herd immunity.
Caelian reported that 263,580 Negrenses have already been fully vaccinated as of Sept. 1 while 79,910 more are waiting their second dose.
A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose for 2-jab vaccines.
Caelian said he also appreciates the willingness of many residents in Negros Occidental to have themselves vaccinated.
This is shown by the increasing number of people lining up in vaccination centers in different local government units.
“They see the need to have themselves and their families protected especially now when there is a spread of the highly infectious Delta variant in the Philippines,” Caelian said.
