PILAR, CAPIZ – A 7-year-old Person with Disability (PWD) died in a fire that hit their house Wednesday afternoon at Sitio Guintunuran Bang-ogay, Barangay Natividad, in Pilar, Capiz.
Police Captain Alfred De Leon, chief of Pilar Municipal Police Station, said the fire that gobbled the house and killed the son of Renebe Hito might be electrical in origin.
Investigation by the Pilar police indicated that Renebe left her son with her parents.
The mother accepts laundry while her husband drives a trisikad for their living.
But it so happened that the grandfather left the victim in their house for a transaction. The fire then erupted and quickly gobbled the house which was made of light materials.
Renebe said that her child could not shout for help because he has difficulty talking.
