BACOLOD CITY — A seven-month-old baby boy died after drowning in a pail at his home in Barangay Sum-ag on Monday morning.
Police Master Sgt. Rutthan Guardafe, chief investigator of Police Station 9, said the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m.
Guardafe explained that the victim’s parents often kept a pail in their bedroom for easy access when cleaning the baby.
He said the baby may have rolled off the bed and fallen into the pail, which was placed at the foot of the bed.
When the parents checked on him, they found him unresponsive, submerged in the pail.
They rushed him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, Guardafe said.
