69 druggies, 278 wanted persons nabbed in PRO-6’s ‘Birada Semana’

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6)‘s weeklong enhanced managing police operations (E-MPO) resulted in the arrest of 69 drug personalities and 278 wanted persons all over Western Visayas.
Dubbed as “Birada Semana,” the E-MPO and focused police operation for this month delivered better results compared to that of March 2021.
From April 19 to April 25, different PRO-6 units conducted 251 police operation against wanted and most wanted persons.
Of the 278 persons arrested, 48 are lumped in most wanted persons’ list while 230 are considered as other wanted persons.
Meanwhile, 57 anti-narcotics operations were done leading to the arrest of 69 illegal drug personalities.
Police also confiscated 521.762 grams of shabu and 40.5 grams of marijuana with an estimated drug value of more than P3.5 million.
Western Visayas police also conducted 60 anti-illegal gambling operations which led to the arrest of 214 persons.
PRO-6 units also did 22 operations against loose firearms which led to the arrest of 22 individuals and the confiscation of 27 firearms.
Police also accounts 133 firearms and 18 explosives that were either recovered, surrendered, or deposited.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office posted the most number of anti-illegal drugs operations at 27 with 29 arrested persons.
NOPPO also conducted 7 operations and arrested 6 persons on loose firearms and 26 operations and 89 arrests on illegal gambling.
On the other hand, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has the most number of wanted persons accounted with 104 and recorded the highest number of surrendered firearms and explosives.
