A 63-year-old man accused of sexual molestation voluntarily surrendered late morning of Dec 19, 2021 in Maasin, Iloilo.
Generoso Panes, a resident of Barangay Layog Maasin, Iloilo, was accompanied by his wife when he turned himself in to Maasin Police Station.
Corporal Faith Jan Leysa, Maasin police chief, said Panes claimed he was aware that criminal charges were filed against him.
Panes has a standing arrest warrant for three counts of rape (Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code) docketed under Criminal Case Numbers 21-1146, 21-1147, and 21-1148.
Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 76, Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 9, 2021.
No bail was recommended for Panes’s temporary liberty.
Leysa said Panes, a father of 10, was accused of raping a 14-year-old minor.
But the suspect, who is a farmer, denied the accusation.
Panes is now detained at Maasin Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
