A 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a minor.
The suspect, identified as alias Rey, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Badiangan, Iloilo, was apprehended in Barangay Salngan, Passi City, at noon on October 13.
Members of the Badiangan Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Passi City Component Police Station, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 603rd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, arrested the suspect at his brother’s house.
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant for three counts of rape by carnal knowledge, under Criminal Case Numbers 24-2320, 24-2321, and 24-2322.
Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 76, Janiuay, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant on October 9, 2024.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary release.
The suspect is reportedly the second most wanted person in Iloilo province.
The complainant is allegedly related to the suspect by affinity.
After learning that charges had been filed against him, the suspect reportedly fled and sought refuge at his brother’s house in Passi City.
He is currently detained at the Badiangan Municipal Police Station, pending further legal proceedings.
