ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Six wanted persons with arrest warrants were arrested by the Capiz Police Provincial Office during a weeklong operation from April 27 to May 3.
Based on the accomplishment report of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, five were classified as other wanted persons, while one was listed as a most wanted person.
Police data also showed that 13 unlicensed firearms were surrendered under Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang, a police campaign against loose firearms.
Police also arrested one person for illegal gambling and two others for illegal fishing.
Authorities recovered fishing paraphernalia and assorted fish valued at PHP 131,500 during the illegal fishing operations.
Police also recovered suspected fake cigarettes worth PHP 14,520, as well as 436 board feet of lumber and 200 pieces of bamboo in eight separate police operations.
The Capiz police, under Police Col. Albert Tapulao Jr., has intensified its campaign against illegal activities in the province.
