Hundreds of Philippine Army personnel assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division welcomed the year with a good start.
This, as 595 Army soldiers were formally promoted to the next higher rank.
More than half of those promoted were for the rank of Corporal with 314. On the other hand, there are 281 personnel who are now Sergeants.
Of the 595 promotees, 52 are assigned to the 3ID Headquarters at Camp Macario Peralta in Janindan, Capiz.
Major General Marion Sison, 3rd commander l, led the donning of ranks for the newly-promoted enlisted personnel in a ceremony held on Monday, Jan. 22.
He was assisted by Brigadier General Leonardo Peña, 3ID Assistant Division Commander.
Sison has underscored that the promotion of hundreds of enlisted personnel is all well-deserved.
He also lauded them for their role in the success of 3ID’s campaign in 2023.
In January 2024, the 3ID had already initiated five encounters. These clashes led to the demise of four NPA terrorists and the seizure of eight firearms.
“The 3ID will sustain the gains, continue the momentum, and focus on the campaign to dismantle the remaining guerrilla fronts in the Panay Front and Central Front of Komiteng-Rehiyon Panay,” he said.
While there are setbacks, Sison said that it will just inspire them to continue their mission to eliminate and dismantle all existing guerilla fronts in Western and Central Visayas.
