BACOLOD CITY – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) has deployed 595 personnel to help secure domestic and international tourists visiting the province during the summer vacation.
This deployment supplements the regular police force assigned to various stations, which will continue standard operations.
With the launch of Oplan Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2025, the police also established 278 Police Assistance Desks in recreational areas, religious sites, transport terminals, seaports, and other public venues.
Beat patrollers and undercover officers will also be assigned to enhance overall security.
To manage traffic and ensure road safety, traffic personnel and marshals will be stationed along major routes.
Force multipliers will be mobilized to support uniformed personnel and bolster security efforts.
Red Teams will conduct evaluations to test readiness, with area supervisors overseeing operations across six police districts.
Police Col. Rainerio De Chavez, Nocppo provincial director, urged the public to stay vigilant against criminals who may take advantage of the vacation rush.
He assured the safety and security of both residents and visitors throughout the summer period.
