BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has vaccinated 546 out of its 2,252 personnel as of July 21, 2021.
Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s information officer, said 504 cops from various police stations in the province were already inoculated, while 42 others from Nocppo headquarters were also vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Donasco said 447 policemen received Sinovac vaccines, while 69 others got Pfizer shots, and 30 received AstraZeneca vaccines.
The vaccination of the provincial police force started last month, after the local government units (LGUs) of Himamaylan City, San Carlos City, and Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) town provided COVID-19 vaccines to their officers.
Donasco said the vaccination of Nocppo personnel is ongoing, depending on the availability of vaccines from the provincial government and the LGUs.
“Wala naman pong target date,” she added.
Donasco said there are still few personnel who are hesitant to be vaccinated as they really wanted to see its effectiveness from vaccinated individuals.
Nobody among the vaccinated personnel suffered severe effects.
“Okay naman sila so far after the vaccination,” she added.
Donasco said that Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director, has yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
