BACOLOD CITY – Five scholars from Negros Occidental have graduated from a globally recognized two-year Early Childhood Education and Care program at Alana Kaye College in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
The achievement marks a key milestone in both their personal and professional journeys.
The Negrense graduates are Kristine Irish G. Esclares of Victorias City; Artmarie J. Getonzo and Riva May D. Manuel of Sipalay City; Chloe Napaton of Moises Padilla; and Pamela Joie T. Sobrebiga of Binalbagan.
They were among students from 25 countries who completed the competency-based program designed to equip future educators with globally aligned skills and knowledge.
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose V. Lacson was among the keynote speakers during the graduation ceremony held Thursday.
Distinguished guests included Alana Kaye College CEO Alana Anderson, MLA Robyn Cahill, MP Luke Gosling, and Philippine Honorary Consul General to the Northern Territory Januario Rivas and Edna Rivas.
Lacson praised the graduates for their perseverance and commitment.
“You have worked hard and embraced challenges with grace, even as most of you ventured far from home,” he said.
“This milestone proves not only your perseverance and dedication but also your courage in taking the leap and embracing the opportunities offered by Alana Kaye College,” he added.
“We take pride in your achievements—not just because of your academic success, but because of the values you uphold and the bridges you build between cultures.”
Joining Lacson at the ceremony were Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, Mrs. Julie Diaz, Provincial Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay and Provincial Information Officer Charina Magallanes-Tan.
The five graduates are beneficiaries of the provincial government’s international scholarship program, which aims to enhance the training, skills and global exposure of Negrenses.
Their achievement highlights the province’s continuing investment in education, international partnerships and human capital development.
Earlier this week, five other Negrense scholars also graduated from the Commercial Cookery Course, a competency-based training program offered by the International College of Advanced Education (ICAE) in Darwin.
