Forty-four micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Aklan are targeting P5.5 million in combined sales at the weeklong Aklan Product Expo 2026 at SM City Iloilo.
The expo opened Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the mall’s Activity Center and will run until Oct. 19.
DTI-Aklan OIC-Provincial Director Grace Benedicto said the agency is aiming for a 10% increase in sales from last year’s ₱5 million.
“We have more products this year, and each exhibitor is bringing the best of their municipalities to Iloilo,” Benedicto said.
She urged shoppers to visit the expo and consider locally made products as early Christmas gifts.
The exhibit features Aklanon products, including the iconic piña wearables, coconut-based goods, home décor, processed food, and health and wellness products.
DTI-Region 6 Acting Regional Director Mutya Eusores, in her opening message, underscored the importance of partnerships in supporting local enterprises and sustaining business growth.
“At DTI, partnerships are not built merely through formal agreements or shared programs, but through presence. They are strengthened every time we make the effort to be there for one another, to listen, to collaborate, and to support a shared vision for business growth and economic development,” she said.
She commended the participating MSMEs for their continued participation in trade shows, particularly during the busy months leading to holiday season.
Organized by DTI-Aklan and DTI-Region 6, with support from the provincial government of Aklan, the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT), and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the expo aims to promote Aklanon craftsmanship, expand market opportunities for local enterprises, and contribute to the province’s economic growth.
The public may visit the mall’s lower ground floor from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
