BACOLOD CITY — The recently concluded 40th Negros Trade Fair at SM Aura in Taguig City generated PHP 118 million in sales as spot sales surged by 39%.
Themed BUTLAK 2026, this year’s six-day fair was organized by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) from Sept. 22 to 27 in partnership with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and the SM Group at the SMX Convention Center Aura.
The ANP reported Wednesday that of the total sales, PHP 75 million came from spot sales, while PHP 43 million came from business-to-business sales, including business orders and transactions generated through institutional buyers, retailers, distributors and other business partners.
Spot sales increased from PHP 54 million in the previous edition to PHP 75 million this year, representing a 39% increase, or an additional PHP 21 million in direct consumer purchases.
The combined reported sales, according to the ANP, reflected strong market demand for Negrense products and enterprises.
In a statement, the ANP said the strong results underscored the continued demand in the Metro Manila market for products created by Negrense entrepreneurs, makers, designers, food producers and creative enterprises.
It added that the results reflected the growing market reach of Negrense enterprises and the continued demand for products rooted in local craftsmanship, creativity, food, design and innovation.
The Negros Trade Fair, one of the country’s longest-running regional trade fairs, showcased the breadth of Negros’ craftsmanship, food, design, creativity and enterprise.
Last year’s fair generated PHP 151.5 million in combined spot sales and booked business-to-business transactions and drew more than 41,000 visitors.
