ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four individuals were arrested during a buy-bust operation at a suspected drug den in Urban Village, Barangay Banica, Roxas City, on Saturday night, Sept. 6.
The joint operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Aklan and Capiz, together with the Philippine National Police Regional Intelligence Unit 6.
The suspects were identified as Noah Bornales, Bryan Altamia, Mary Rose Delos Reyes, and Rafael Bolido, all of legal age and residents of the area.
Authorities recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu, along with marked money and drug paraphernalia.
Altamia and Bolido claimed they were shocked by the arrest, saying they had just come from a neighboring house.
Bornales said he was surprised when law enforcers entered the house and declared a buy-bust operation.
The suspects denied ownership of the illegal drugs seized during the operation.
PDEA officials said the operation was launched in response to multiple complaints from residents about suspected drug activities in the area.
The four suspects were brought to the PDEA regional office for drug testing.
They will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
