Four high-value drug suspects were arrested and PHP884,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in two buy-bust operations conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) on July 23, 2025.
The first operation was carried out at around 9:45 p.m. in Zone 3, Barangay Railway, La Paz, by operatives from Iloilo City Police Station 2 (ICPS 2).
Arrested was alias “Nonoy,” 45, a freelance electrician and resident of Iloilo City.
Confiscated from him were seven heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP340,000.
Police also recovered buy-bust money and various non-drug items at the scene.
Barely 20 minutes later, at 10:04 p.m., the ICPO Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-DEU) and Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS 4) launched another buy-bust operation in Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo.
This led to the arrest of three suspects identified as alias “Brando,” 41, a laborer; alias “Suzette,” 50, a cook; and alias “Kanig,” 24, jobless.
All are residents of Molo, Iloilo City.
Seized from them were 15 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 80 grams with an SDP of PHP544,000, along with marked money and non-drug paraphernalia.
Police Regional Office 6 chief, Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, lauded the successful operations.
“These operations speak of the dedication and unwavering efforts of our operatives on the ground to eliminate illegal drugs in the region,” Ligan said.
“Let us continue to pursue this fight for a safer and drug-free Western Visayas,” he added.
All suspects are in police custody and will face appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
