ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Four fishermen survived a lightning strike on their fishing boat in the waters of this city Monday afternoon.
According to Jeric Amangca, one of the four fishermen on board MB New Diamond, they were preparing to pull up their fishing nets around 2 pm when lightning struck their boat.
Boat skipper Daniel De Jose and crewmember Wardoy Anisco were wounded after the strike.
Amangca said the boat engine exploded after the lightning strike.
They returned to Brgy. Libas and proceeded to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital for treatment.
Boat owner Francis Salazar proceeded to the hospital and pledged to shoulder the expenses of the boat crew.
