4 arrested for illegal card game in Dao

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four individuals, including a minor, were apprehended by police for playing the card game “pusoy” Sunday afternoon, June 16, in Barangay Duyoc, Dao, Capiz.

An investigation by the Dao Municipal Police Station indicated that the suspects were cornered by police while playing the card game in one of the houses in the village.

Police recovered P404 in bet money and a set of playing cards from the suspects.

Three of the suspects were placed under the custody of Dao PNP, while the minor was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for proper disposition.

Charges for violating PD 1602, as amended by RA 9287 or the anti-illegal gambling law, will be filed against them.
