4.1-magnitude quake jolts Negros Occidental, Iloilo City
A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Negros Occidental and other parts of Western Visayas on Tuesday morning, Nov 2, 2021.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the 4.1-magnitude quake was located in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental at around 11:58 a.m.
The earthquake had a depth of 18 kilometers, PHIVOLCS added.
Intensity III was also felt in Iloilo City. Due to the quake, employees of both the Iloilo City Hall building and the lloilo Provincial Government were made to vacate the premises of the building as a precautionary measure. They were allowed to return afterward.
Meanwhile, other instrumental intensities were also reported in Bago City, Negros Occidental (Intensity III) and La Carlota City, Negros Occidental (Intensity III).
Authorities have not reported any damages caused by the quake. (ERS)
