BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region has welcomed 39 newly appointed non-uniformed personnel, who formally joined the Philippine National Police in serving the people of Negros Island and Siquijor.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, led the oath-taking ceremony at Kanlaon Hall in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania here on Tuesday.
During the ceremony, the non-uniformed personnel pledged their commitment to uphold the duties and responsibilities of public service with integrity, professionalism and accountability.
The newly appointed personnel underwent a rigorous screening and recruitment process.
The group included three personnel from the Bacolod City Police Office, 10 from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, four from the Siquijor Police Provincial Office and 22 from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.
In his message, Ibay said that while they do not wear uniforms, their roles are vital in ensuring that the PNP functions efficiently and effectively.
He said their work supports every police operation and community program with dedication, professionalism and integrity.
“Dahil sa likod ng bawat matagumpay na operasyon ng pulisya at ng bawat programa para sa komunidad, ay ang mga dedikadong hanay ng masigasig na mga NUPs,” he said.
Ibay said their appointment reflects a commitment to public service, accountability and responsibility.
He added that their new roles carry the trust and expectations of the communities they serve.
As they assume their duties, the newly sworn-in personnel are expected to embody the organization’s core values and actively support PRO-NIR’s mission of delivering effective, responsive and people-centered police service across the region.
“May this be etched in your hearts starting today: your commitment, professionalism, and integrity contribute greatly to the overall success of our organization,” Ibay said.
