Hundreds of warm bodies have added to Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
The 356 recruits officially joined the PRO-6 ranks after they took their oath of office on Monday, August 24, at the Regional Training Center 6 (RTC-6) in Bacolod City.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said they were sworn into post after going through the vigorous screening and selection process.
Most of those who passed the process are male applicants at 292 while 64 are females.
Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police chief, attended the oath taking virtually.
He again reminded the police newbies that while being a police officer is a good paying job, it must be coupled with hardship and dedication.
“The salary you will receive entails commitment,” he said.
It was gathered that the ceremony was conducted simultaneously all over the country with PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa in attendance.
Malong said the patrolmen and women will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for six months at RTC-6.
They will also go through a six-month Field Training Program (FTP) which will qualify them for permanency.
They will be receiving a basic monthly salary of Php29, 668.00 aside from allowances and other benefits.
“I challenge everyone (the recruits) to prove to us that you are all worthy of joining the PNP organization, wear our uniform with vigor, strong will and determination,” Pamuspusan said.
