BACOLOD City – Thirty-three police officers from city and municipal police stations in Negros Occidental underwent a social media lecture and workshop at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) headquarters here on Aug 22, 2019.
Nocppo’s Public Information Office (PIO) led by Police Major Edison Garcia, under the supervision of Police Major Norberto Barniso, chief of Police Community Affairs Section, spearheaded the activity aimed to relay information and standardize instructions in handling the official social media accounts of the different police stations in the province, a press release said.
Various topics included in the lecture were the introduction of the social media IMPLAN, creation of Facebook page, and social media plan. The activity culminated with the participants’ presentation of their own weekly plan activity.
Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, Nocppo director, in his message, said “the seminar is our answer to the call of President Rodrigo Duterte to end local communist armed conflicts.”
“You shall be the torchbearers of the information to lead your respective stations to light,” he added.
