BACOLOD City – Three fishermen died after they figured in a stabbing and shooting incident in the midst of a liquor drinking session at Barangay Zone 4, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Sunday night.
Killed were Christian Fernandez, and his brother Jay-r; and Ely Curativo, all residents of the said village.
Police Major Robert Mansueto, Cadiz City police chief, said the three fatalities were drinking liquor with some companions when a heated argument occurred.
Jay-r allegedly first stabbed Curativo on his right leg.
Christian pacified them but Curativo allegedly shot the Fernandez brothers.
Christian was hit on his chest while Jay-r was hit on his head.
They were brought to a hospital, but Christian and Curativo were declared dead on arrival.
Jay-r also expired at the hospital the following day.
Mansueto said a misunderstanding due to drunkenness triggered the incident.
