Gasataya said the funds for the projects from the national government is available after he proposed a feasibility study for the construction of additional roads in the city to help decongest traffic.
He said the DPWH has assured him that the allocation has been included in the 2021 national budget.
“One of the diversion roads will be located at Barangay Sum-ag and the other one will be put up near Barangay Granada,” Gasataya said.
Gasataya also said that a bypass road at the Circumferential Road, near Barangay Mandalagan, will also be constructed. It will connect the Bacolod Economic Highway going to Barangays Granada and Alangilan.
Gasataya said the new road network will provide the public with alternative routes, especially for those going to and from the west and east areas.
The target of completion for these diversion roads is three years.
