BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said that the 27 capitol employees who flunked the drug test will face sanction even though the confirmatory test results have yet to be released.
According to Diaz, the confirmatory drug test will just determine the volume of illegal drugs in the bodies of the said employees.
But the fact remains that they are still positive for illegal drug use, he stressed.
Diaz also said that he already has the list of the said employees and their respective departments but declined to reveal the same to the media.
He added that he is also due to meet Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on Friday to discuss the results of the drug test.
Diaz reiterated that job orders and contract of service employees who have tested positive for illegal drug use will no longer be allowed to renew their contracts.
Permanent employees will also face administrative sanctions.
More than 2,300 of the Capitol workforce numbering approximately 3,400 underwent drug testing.
Diaz pointed out that the provincial government is doing its share to ensure a drug-free workplace for the employees like any other local government unit in the province.
