ROXAS CITY, Capiz 260 inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Capiz Rehabilitation Center(CRC) will cast their ballots today, May 13, 2019.
A directive from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Commission on Election (Comelec) allowed the inmates to vote for candidates running for senators and party list.
According to CRC Provincial Warden Arjuna Yngcong, 90 inmates from CRC will exercise their right of suffrage at the visiting area of the provincial jail.
Yngcong said that the Comelec and members of the Board of Elections Inspectors will bring their ballots to the CRC to be used by the persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in casting their votes.
Meanwhile, Roxas City Jail Warden Senior Inspector Egbert Nagrampa said they will go directly to the precinct where the inmates are registered.
He said 170 inmates from the BJMP located in Brgy. San Jose here will cast their ballots.
