ROXAS CITY, Capiz – More than 20 passengers suffered minor injuries when a Ceres bus accidentally plunged into a rice field Friday morning at Brgy. Loctugan here.
According to Gerard Berja Gelito, 43, of Barangay Ardemil, Sara, Iloilo and driver of the bus, they were on their way to Roxas City from Estancia, Iloilo when he lost control of the bus after an Isuzu Crosswind SUV overtook him and crossed his path.
Gelito said he was forced to swerve towards the rice field to avoid bumping into the Crosswind.
The bus was loaded with 28 persons including the driver and the conductor.
The 26 injured passengers were taken to different hospitals here for treatment of the injuries they sustained.
According to one of the passengers, the bus was running on moderate speed when the incident happened.
