247 Police officers redeployed, assets given to Antique PPO

The Police Regional Office – 6 (PRO-6) redeployed 247 police officers to various police provincial and city offices on May 20, 2024, during a formal turnover held at the PRO-6 Multi-Purpose Hall.

The event was presided over by PRO-6 Director, Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky.

These officers, from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, were assigned to the following units:

– Aklan Police Provincial Office: 20 personnel

– Capiz Police Provincial Office: 20 personnel

– Iloilo Police Provincial Office: 35 personnel

– Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office: 20 personnel

– Bacolod City Police Office: 20 personnel

– Iloilo City Police Office (CPO): 132 personnel

Iloilo CPO received the largest number of personnel to support the activation of additional police stations in Iloilo City.

These officers will supplement the current strength of their respective units, enhancing their capability and improving security and public safety services.

In his remarks, PBGen Wanky emphasized that the additional personnel would help maintain peace and order and improve public safety services on the ground. He reminded the officers to stay motivated and perform their duties with integrity, dedication, and professionalism.

“You are there to help the police stations intensify their crime prevention and solution efforts. Additionally, ensure the people feel safe in your areas of responsibility,” Wanky said.

He also advised the personnel to avoid seeking political patronage regarding assignments.

“We quickly recognize and award performing PNP personnel, but we will be unforgiving to those found breaking the rules or engaging in illegal activities,” Wanky added.

Among the 247 PNP personnel, three are Police Commissioned Officers assigned to Iloilo CPO, while the remaining 244 are Police Non-Commissioned Officers.

PBGen Wanky was joined by the PRO-6 Command Group and staff during the turnover.

Coinciding with this activity, PRO-6 also turned over four units of Kawasaki Versys 645cc motorcycles to the Antique Police Provincial Office. The mobility assets were received by PCOL Lea Rose Peña, Provincial Director of the Antique Police Provincial Office, represented by PMAJ John Paul Guay, Chief Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit.

These resources were acquired under Congress Initiated Changes/Adjustments Fiscal Year 2023.

PBGen Wanky expressed his gratitude to all who facilitated the acquisition of these assets.

“Rest assured that these motorcycles will be used judiciously by our personnel and will surely help in our response to calls for police assistance and better serve the people of Antique province,” he said.

“To those who will use these, take care of them so we can use them for a long time. Ensure these assets are used only for official engagements,” the PRO-6 Chief added.
