235 couples tie knot in 4 mass weddings

BACOLOD City – A total of 235 couples joined the mass weddings in the cities of Sagay, Silay, and Talisay, and the town of E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental on Valentine’s Day. 100 couples tied the knot in Talisay, 61 in Sagay, 41 in Silay, and 33 in E.B. Magalona town.

BACOLOD City – A total of 235 couples joined the mass weddings in the cities of Sagay, Silay, and Talisay, and the town of E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental on Valentine’s Day.
100 couples tied the knot in Talisay, 61 in Sagay, 41 in Silay, and 33 in E.B. Magalona town.
Mayor Neil Lizares III officiated a mass wedding of Talisaynon couples at the Nature’s Village Resort.
Mayor Alfredo Marañon III also officiated the wedding of Sagaynon couples at the covered court of Barangay Puey, an upland barangay of the city.
Fr. Joebert Marcella officiated the mass that preceded the wedding ceremony conducted by Marañon.
Among the 61 couples, 40 were married under Article 34 of the Family Code, and 21 pairs under license. Three Ati couples were included in the group.
Mayor Mark Golez also led the mass wedding of Silaynon couples at the civic center while Mayor Marvin Malacon also officiated the mass wedding of Saraviahanon couples.
Some local government units (LGUs) would usually hold a mass wedding every February.
