BACOLOD City – An estimated P2,001,500 worth of illegal drugs was seized from 23 persons who were arrested in police anti-illegal drugs campaign here and in six areas in Negros Occidental from Nov 20 to 24, 2019.
The seizure included P1.745 million worth of suspected shabu that was confiscated here while P256,000 of suspected shabu and P500 worth of suspected marijuana were seized in the province.
Of the 23 arrested persons, 14, including a minor, were apprehended here while nine others were collared in the province.
The operations here were conducted in Barangays 3, 8, 14, 27, Alijis, Granada, Mansilingan, Mandalagan, and Singcang-Airport.
Most of the arrested individuals were apprehended in buy-bust operations while one of them was arrested when he tried to escape the one time-big time operation of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Over the weekend, Mohaisin Magondacan was arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay Alijis here yesterday.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) confiscated from him 25 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 100 grams worth P1.2 million, and the P1,000 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 7.
In the province, all drug bust operations were conducted at the cities of Bago, Victorias, Cadiz, and Talisay, and towns of Ilog and Pontevedra. The biggest recovery of illegal drugs was in Talisay City last Friday, with the seizure of P150,000 worth of suspected shabu.
