BACOLOD City – Police in Negros Occidental arrested 22 wanted persons on Sept 8.
Authorities served arrest warrants to these individuals for the crimes of attempted homicide, frustrated murder, qualified theft, frustrated homicide, estafa, homicide, violation of Republic Act (RA) 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, physical abuse, and violation of RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, as well as offenses on illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and illegal cockfighting.
The one-day operation was conducted in the cities of La Carlota, Kabankalan, San Carlos, Bago, Talisay, Sipalay, and Cadiz, and in the towns of La Castellana, Manapla, Isabela, Binalbagan, E.B. Magalona, and Murcia.
Major Edison Garcia, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said they are continuously intensifying their campaign against wanted persons.
Garcia said it is part of their focused police operations in the province.
He said it helps the police maximize their time and resources if they can arrest many wanted persons because it can also prevent criminalities in their respective areas.
