The Milo Champions League basketball event in Buenavista, Guimaras was again one for the books.
Just a month after successfully staging the Chairman’s Cup Philippines, commissioner Dr. Richard Gabayoyo and his committee topped it off with a stellar hosting of the Milo Champions League.
Three categories catered to hundreds of young basketball aspirants from Guimaras but also from Iloilo, Passi, and other neighboring provinces.
A total of 25 teams graced the successful tournament, with 10 competing squads signed up for the 16-under, eight in the 14-U, and seven in the 18-U.
In the 16-U category, Assumption Passi reigned supreme as they out-maneuvered Iloilo Sun Yat Sen, 74-56.
Meanwhile, in the 14-U, Supang National High School pulled off a clutch victory over team Crosspoint, 69-68.
It was in this game that everyone stood to their feet, as Supang fought hard in all four quarters to stun a Crosspoint squad who that had been winning since the Chairman’s Cup.
In the last category of the tournament, the 18-U, team Nolan’s sent Assumption Passi packing, 71-61, and made a long-lasting impression on the organizers.
Gracing the prestigious Milo event in Guimaras was Maam Grace Galusong, the Milo Regional Sports Coordinator.
“Salamat gd sa tanan nga nag supporta. We know Milo always wants the best for the young aspiring athletes and we will be here to bring their support sa probinsya sang Guimaras,” said Dr. Gabayoyo in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
