200 gun owners renew licenses in E.B. Magalona

BACOLOD City – Around 200 gun owners and enthusiasts here and in the third district of Negros Occidental renewed their firearm licenses during the one-day License To Own and Possess Firearm Registration (LTOPFR) caravan at the public plaza of E.B. Magalona town Friday, Sept. 23.

Police Captain Eric Doronila, E.B. Magalona town police chief, said the participants came from the cities of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, Victorias, and Cadiz, and the town of Manapla.

The caravan offered four services such as Issuance of National Police Clearance, Status Verification from Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), Neuro-Psychiatric Clearance, and Drug Test Clearance.

Doronila said the caravan was conducted following the request of Mayor Marvin Malacon to Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 so that Saraviahanons need not travel to Iloilo City to renew their firearm licenses, as the regional offices of these concerned government agencies are based there.

He thanked Malacon for funding the one-stop-shop caravan, which ran from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has continuously reiterated its call to gun owners to renew or apply for a firearm license or else they will be subjected to a police operation.
