BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here reported the arrest of 20 wanted persons in the province last Monday.
The wanted persons were collared in the cities of Escalante, Bago, Talisay, Cadiz, Sagay, and Silay, and the towns of La Castellana, Binalbagan, Isabela, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Calatrava, Toboso, Murcia, and Moises Padilla.
Two wanted persons were arrested each in Talisay City, Hinoba-an, Murcia, Isabela, and Binalbagan.
The suspects were arrested for the crimes of theft, rape, grave oral defamation, obstruction of apprehension and prosecution of criminal offender, frustrated homicide, Republic Act 9262 or “Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004,” attempted rape, statutory rape, attempted murder, frustrated murder, and illegal gambling, police records indicated.
All the arrested suspects are now detained at the police stations.
The one-day operation resulted in the accomplishment of different police stations and the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company.
