20 more city barangays placed under lockdown

Twenty more barangays in Iloilo City were placed under surgical lockdown from September 9 to September 12, 2021 as Covid-19 cases in Iloilo City continue to spike.

Based on Executive Order (E.O.) No. 93 issued by Mayor Jerry Treñas on Thursday, localized containment will be imposed in the selected areas of the 20 barangays which recorded at least two cases and continuously increasing number of Covid-19 cases based on swab results.

The 20 barangays include North San Jose, Boulevard, Sta. Cruz, Sooc, M.H. Del Pilar, San Pedro, San Vicente, Dungon B, Mv Hechanova, Balabago, Buntatala, Balantang, Tacas, Guzman Jesena, Bo. Obrero, Quintin Salas, San Isidro, Banuyao, Estanzuela, and Hipodromo.

The areas affected by the localized containment are:

*One house near barangay hall, Brgy. Sta. Cruz

*One house located at Blk. 5Lot, Royal Residence Subdivision, Brgy. Sta. Cruz

*One house located near barangay hall, Brgy. Sooc

*One house located at Zone 5, Brgy. M.H. Del Pilar

*One house located at Blk. 5 Lot, Ledesco Village, Brgy. San Pedro,

*One house located at Zone 2, Brgy. San Vicente,

*One house located along Carter Drive Marimar Subdivision, Brgy. Dungon B

*One house lot 4, Camias St. Phase 3, Brgy. Mv Hechanova,

All residents of the affected areas are highly encouraged to stay at home and “refrain from unnecessary travel” during the period of the granular lockdown.

Curfew will also be implemented in the affected barangays from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Sale and consumption of liquor and gatherings of any kind of people not belonging to the same household will be prohibited.

The City Health Office (CHO) shall conduct mandatory swab testing of high-risk and medium-risk contacts of the Covid-19 positive cases in the affected areas. (ERS)
