2 Koreans injured as car slams into tower barriers
BACOLOD City – Two Korean nationals suffered scratches after their car allegedly hit the barriers of the Halandumon tower on Gatuslao-Gonzaga Streets, Barangay 12 here Friday. BACOLOD City – Two Korean nationals suffered scratches after their car allegedly hit the barriers of the Halandumon tower on Gatuslao-Gonzaga Streets, Barangay 12 here Friday.
Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, identified the driver as 46-year-old Shin Inhwan of Barangay Tangub here while his companion remains unidentified.
Sedel said Inhwan was driving a black Ford Everest on his way home when he ran against traffic flow and hit the barriers past 12 a.m.
Sedel said Inhwan suffered hypertension and was brought to a hospital while his companion injured his forehead. Both of them were later discharged from the hospital.
The city government inaugurated the Halandumon tower during the first June 18 Charter Day celebration last year.
It made headlines after netizens questioned the cost of its construction amounting to P4.8 million. But the city government said the project was not overpriced.
The tower was surrounded with barriers because of the ongoing construction.
