ROXAS CITY, Capiz A driver and his back-rider died while another person was seriously wounded after their motorcycle collided with a van afternoon of May 11, 2019 at Sitio Minoro in Barangay Bula, Mambusao, Capiz.
Dead on arrival in a hospital here were Alex Labanza, 28, driver of the motorcycle; and his back-rider Fredilyn Alayon, 19.
Another back-rider of Labanzas motorcycle, Angelo Alayon, is presently confined in a hospital here.
Investigation by Mambusao police indicated that the victims were on their way to the town proper when Labanza lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the van driven by Donald Palparon, 46, of Brgy. Talibong Tequiño, Mina, Iloilo.
According to Palparon, he overtook a truck parked on the road but he failed to notice the motorcycle that was zigzagging on the road.
Because of the strong impact, the three victims thrown off the bike and crashed into the concrete road.
The truck driver voluntarily surrendered to Mambusao police.
