2 killed, 3 hurt in Capiz motorcycle crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Two persons were killed and three others were seriously injured when a top-down motorcycle collided with a single motorcycle on Saturday evening, Dec. 20, in Sitio Proper, Barangay Agustin Navarra, Ivisan, Capiz.
Police identified the top-down motorcycle driver as alias Emel John, 17, of Barangay Agustin Navarra, while the other motorcycle driver was John Paul Calzado Marcelino, 25, of Sitio Gutusan, Barangay Balaring, Ivisan.
According to the investigation, both motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions when Marcelino reportedly lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a head-on collision.
Due to the strong impact, both drivers and the passengers of the top-down motorcycle were thrown to the roadside.
Rescuers immediately responded and brought the victims to a private hospital in Roxas City, where two of them were declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The three injured passengers are currently confined at Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
Police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
